A trip full of mountains and turquoise lakes that didn’t feel real

Hi Reader!

If you’re looking for a summer trip with some of the best scenery in North America, the Canadian Rockies are hard to beat.

We took this trip a few summers ago, and it’s still one of those places I keep thinking about.

➡️ Our 7 Day Banff and Jasper Itinerary

You can find the full itinerary in the link above, but here are a few moments from the trip that really stood out.

Driving through Banff National Park and Jasper National Park feels like you’re constantly pulling over for another viewpoint. Lakes, glaciers, mountain peaks… it just doesn’t stop.

Lake Louise was just as stunning as you see in photos, with that bright turquoise water set against the mountains.

One of my favorite experiences was taking the gondola up Sulphur Mountain. The views from the top stretch across the entire valley, and it’s one of the best ways to really take in the scale of the Rockies.

We also drove the Icefields Parkway between Banff and Jasper, which is easily one of the most scenic drives we’ve done anywhere. Walking on the Athabasca glacier was a bucket list activity!

In Jasper, things felt a bit quieter and more relaxed compared to Banff, which made it a nice balance in the itinerary.

If you’re planning a trip, or just want to see how beautiful the Canadian Rockies really are, I’ve shared our full itinerary, where we stayed, and plenty of photos from the trip:

This is one of those trips where the photos don’t fully capture what it feels like to be there.

The first...

A couple at Seattle's Pike Place Market

Hi Reader! I think Seattle is one of the coolest cities on the West Coast, and that’s saying a lot from someone who loves San Francisco as a local. It has this creative, young, outdoorsy energy - a mix of coffee, tech, music, and nature that gives the city its own unique vibe. Hubby and I at Pike Place Market in Seattle My kid started college near Seattle, so I will be visiting a lot over the next few years and am looking forward to exploring the Pacific Northwest. Seattle is known for its...
