A trip full of mountains and turquoise lakes that didn’t feel real

Hi Reader!

If you’re looking for a summer trip with some of the best scenery in North America, the Canadian Rockies are hard to beat.

We took this trip a few summers ago, and it’s still one of those places I keep thinking about.

➡️ Our 7 Day Banff and Jasper Itinerary

You can find the full itinerary in the link above, but here are a few moments from the trip that really stood out.

Driving through Banff National Park and Jasper National Park feels like you’re constantly pulling over for another viewpoint. Lakes, glaciers, mountain peaks… it just doesn’t stop.

Lake Louise was just as stunning as you see in photos, with that bright turquoise water set against the mountains.

One of my favorite experiences was taking the gondola up Sulphur Mountain. The views from the top stretch across the entire valley, and it’s one of the best ways to really take in the scale of the Rockies.

We also drove the Icefields Parkway between Banff and Jasper, which is easily one of the most scenic drives we’ve done anywhere. Walking on the Athabasca glacier was a bucket list activity!

In Jasper, things felt a bit quieter and more relaxed compared to Banff, which made it a nice balance in the itinerary.

If you’re planning a trip, or just want to see how beautiful the Canadian Rockies really are, I’ve shared our full itinerary, where we stayed, and plenty of photos from the trip:

This is one of those trips where the photos don’t fully capture what it feels like to be there.

Multnomah falls in Oregon

Hi Reader! I can't believe summer is almost over and fall is just around the corner! This time of year always reminds me of our family road trip through Oregon. When we planned the trip, I knew the Oregon Coast would be beautiful. What surprised me was just how many varied places we experienced in one week. ➡️ Our 7-Day Oregon Road Trip Itinerary Multnomah Falls near Portland We explored Bend with its cute cafes and relaxed downtown, visited some of Portland's most popular attractions, drove...

Hi Reader! Every summer I try to plan one bucket list family trip. This year I chose British Columbia, the westernmost province in Canada, with plans to spend a week exploring Vancouver, Whistler, and Victoria. Historic Steam Clock in Vancouver downtown Unfortunately, our trip didn't quite go as planned. My daughter became quite sick in Vancouver, and we decided it was best to head home early in case she needed medical treatment. Thankfully she recovered within a week, but she definitely...

The Bean in Chicago

Hi Reader! Chicago had been on my travel wish list for years, and I finally got the chance to visit this spring on a weekend getaway with friends. ➡️ My first trip to Chicago: 2 day itinerary After spending two full days exploring the city, one thing stood out to me: Chicago got the downtown right. The Bean in Chicago is truly a bucket list attraction! I've visited a lot of cities over the years, but few have a downtown that feels this clean, walkable, and beautiful to explore. The city is...
