The Eastern Canada road trip we still talk about

Hi Reader!

If you are looking for a great summer road trip, this Toronto to Quebec City route, exploring Eastern Canada, is one of the most memorable trips we’ve taken.

You can find our complete trip itinerary in the link above, but here are some of my favorite highlights.

At Niagara Falls, taking a cruise right to the base of the falls and seeing the water crashing down from that close really was an amazing experience. We also stayed in a hotel room overlooking the falls, and loved watching them light up at night.

The views from Toronto's CN Tower were cool, and the Parliament building in Ottawa was beautiful.

In the Thousand Islands region, we took a scenic boat cruise through hundreds of tiny islands. Some of them were so small that they had just one house on them, which was fascinating to see.

Montreal was another highlight. The city has a strong French influence and a lively atmosphere, and we loved wandering through the historic streets of Old Montreal and along the Old Port.

But the place that completely stole my heart was Quebec City. The Fairmont Le Château Frontenac looks straight out of a fairy tale, and Old Quebec has some of the prettiest streets in the world.

Our stay at this small boutique hotel, Hotel Du Vieux Quebec, in Old Quebec made the visit even more special, with the warmest service and a perfect location for exploring the cobblestone streets of Old Quebec. I have never remembered a hotel stay more fondly than this one! I honestly can’t wait to go back again to Quebec City.

Hi Reader! Happy New Year! It’s been a little while since I last wrote, so I wanted to say hello and check in. How were your holidays? Ours were busy in the best possible way. My siblings and their families visited and were all together for the holidays. Our group of 14 drove down to Southern California and visited San Diego, Los Angeles, and Universal Studios. We picked the one week when it decided to rain, of course, but we still had a lot of family fun, along with a fair amount of chaos,...

Lush mountains and ocean

Hi Reader! Have you been to any of the Hawaiian Islands? If yes, hit reply and let me know which one. If not, then here's a vacation idea for you for the upcoming winter holidays! Hawaii has great weather year-round, but I especially love visiting in winter to escape from the cold and enjoy warm tropical beaches. ➡️ Visiting Hawaii during winter: What to expect and things to do We have been to Hawaii four times so far: Oahu, Big Island, Maui, and then Oahu again, in that order. The first...

A couple at Seattle's Pike Place Market

Hi Reader! I think Seattle is one of the coolest cities on the West Coast, and that’s saying a lot from someone who loves San Francisco as a local. It has this creative, young, outdoorsy energy - a mix of coffee, tech, music, and nature that gives the city its own unique vibe. Hubby and I at Pike Place Market in Seattle My kid started college near Seattle, so I will be visiting a lot over the next few years and am looking forward to exploring the Pacific Northwest. Seattle is known for its...
