This popular European city lives up to its name!

Hi Reader!

I visited Paris this June for the second time, our first trip was way back in 2016 with two kids under 10. We loved it then, but let’s just say a lot of that trip was spent managing snacks, bathroom breaks, and tired feet.

This time, the kids are teenagers, which brought its own set of challenges (they’re somehow always tired and glued to their phones), but overall it was a much more relaxed experience.

I loved Paris this time a lot more and can easily see myself wanting to visit again sometime in the future. The locals are nice (we didn't need to know French except greeting with bonjour), and the food tastes so much better than in the US. The baguette bread is what dreams are made of!

We kept the itinerary flexible, added unstructured time to just wander through neighborhoods, walking along the Seine River, and spent time sitting at those tiny outdoor café tables where you can hear bits of conversations from all around you. These small moments are what made our trip!

I finally put together a 4-day Paris itinerary that blends highlights from both trips, so it’s not packed to the brim but still covers all the major sights at a manageable pace. I also included tips and my observations from our recent trip.

Check it out here:

And if you have a bit more time in Paris, I highly recommend taking a day trip to Versailles Palace. We explored the palace, gardens, Trianons, and the fairytale-like Queen’s Hamlet, plus lots of helpful details if you’re planning your own trip.

A couple at Seattle's Pike Place Market

Hi Reader! I think Seattle is one of the coolest cities on the West Coast, and that’s saying a lot from someone who loves San Francisco as a local. It has this creative, young, outdoorsy energy - a mix of coffee, tech, music, and nature that gives the city its own unique vibe. Hubby and I at Pike Place Market in Seattle My kid started college near Seattle, so I will be visiting a lot over the next few years and am looking forward to exploring the Pacific Northwest. Hi Reader! This summer, I finally made it to London for the first time! It was part of our big London + Paris trip, and since we had never been before, I wanted to give ourselves enough time to really experience the city. At first, one week in London might sound like too much, but it turned out to be the perfect pace. We covered the major highlights - Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, saw three(!) West End theatre shows, and visited the very popular Harry Potter...
