Ready for some Hawaii inspiration?

Hi Reader!

Have you been to any of the Hawaiian Islands? If yes, hit reply and let me know which one.

If not, then here's a vacation idea for you for the upcoming winter holidays!

Hawaii has great weather year-round, but I especially love visiting in winter to escape from the cold and enjoy warm tropical beaches.

➡️ Visiting Hawaii during winter: What to expect and things to do

We have been to Hawaii four times so far: Oahu, Big Island, Maui, and then Oahu again, in that order. The first three trips were during winter break, and the last trip to Oahu was in June. Kauai is on my bucket list!

I’ve written detailed itineraries for each island based on our trips, with everything we did, what we loved, and practical tips to help you plan your own visit.

Big Island

➡️ Our 7 day Big Island Itinerary

Big Island is by far my favorite island. It just feels so different from the other islands. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is incredible, where we hiked inside a volcano crater, and the landscapes change nonstop, from black sand beaches to rainforests to the dramatic cliffs of Waipio Valley. There’s so much room to explore.

Oahu

➡️ Oahu itinerary for 5 to 7 days

I always say that Oahu is a great island for first-time visitors and families. It has a little bit of everything: the urban landscape of Waikiki, beautiful beaches and water activities, amazing hikes, cultural attractions, and, of course, Pearl Harbor.

Maui

➡️How we spent 6 amazing days in Maui

Maui suffered a setback with the Lahaina fires, but that is just one area. The island has come back strong as ever, and except for Lahaina, everything else is still the same. We drove the scenic but winding Road to Hana drive, watched a bucket list sunset from Haleakala summit, and took a whale watching tour, among many other activities.

If you’re dreaming of a warm-weather escape this winter, these itineraries are a great place to start. I hope they spark some inspiration, and maybe even a trip.

A couple at Seattle's Pike Place Market

Hi Reader! I think Seattle is one of the coolest cities on the West Coast, and that’s saying a lot from someone who loves San Francisco as a local. It has this creative, young, outdoorsy energy - a mix of coffee, tech, music, and nature that gives the city its own unique vibe. Hubby and I at Pike Place Market in Seattle My kid started college near Seattle, so I will be visiting a lot over the next few years and am looking forward to exploring the Pacific Northwest. Hi Reader! This summer, I finally made it to London for the first time! It was part of our big London + Paris trip, and since we had never been before, I wanted to give ourselves enough time to really experience the city. At first, one week in London might sound like too much, but it turned out to be the perfect pace. We covered the major highlights - Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, saw three(!) West End theatre shows, and visited the very popular Harry Potter...

Hi Reader! I visited Paris this June for the second time, our first trip was way back in 2016 with two kids under 10. We loved it then, but let’s just say a lot of that trip was spent managing snacks, bathroom breaks, and tired feet. This time, the kids are teenagers, which brought its own set of challenges (they’re somehow always tired and glued to their phones), but overall it was a much more relaxed experience. ➡️ 4 day Paris Itinerary for first timers I loved Paris this time a lot more...
